One-off cleaning is a single, scheduled clean for a specific need, with no ongoing contract. Optus Glean UK delivers one-off commercial cleans nationwide - for a reset, an event, a reopening or a handover - scoped in writing and delivered by DBS-checked, PAYE-employed operatives to the same standard as our contract work.
When a one-off clean is the right choice
Not every job needs a contract. A one-off clean suits a specific, time-bound need: a reset after a busy season, cleaning before or after an event, a reopening, a pre-inspection tidy, or a handover between occupiers. It is priced for the single visit against a written scope, so you know what you are getting and what it costs before we arrive.
If the work is really a full reset, it may be better handled as a deep clean or a spring clean; if a property is changing hands, an end-of-tenancy clean or after-builders clean is the more precise service. We will tell you honestly which one fits.
From one-off to ongoing
Many clients try us on a one-off basis and move to a rolling contract once they have seen the standard. There is no obligation either way - but if you decide a routine service makes sense, we can convert a one-off into office cleaning or commercial cleaning on a fixed monthly fee, with the same team continuing on site.
How much does a one-off clean cost?
A one-off clean is priced per visit, usually on an hourly basis - UK guide rates are around £20-£35 per hour per cleaner for a one-off or deep clean, higher for intensive work and around 20-30% more in London. The wage floor sets the minimum (National Living Wage £12.71 an hour from April 2026; Real Living Wage £13.45, £14.80 in London), and cleaning is standard-rated for VAT at 20%. See the prices guide or the cost calculator.
Same standard, same vetting - no contract required
A one-off booking gets exactly the same discipline as a contract: a written scope, COSHH-assessed products, colour-coded equipment, and operatives who are PAYE-employed and DBS-checked (Disclosure Scotland / AccessNI in Scotland and Northern Ireland). You are not getting casual labour for a casual job.
