Industrial cleaning is the heavy-duty cleaning of production, storage and distribution environments to keep them safe, compliant and operational. Optus Glean UK delivers it nationwide across plants, warehouses and factories, controlling hazardous substances under COSHH and using DBS-checked (Disclosure Scotland / AccessNI in Scotland and Northern Ireland), PAYE-employed operatives on fixed monthly pricing.
What industrial cleaning covers
Industrial cleaning spans production floors and machinery surrounds, high-level structures and racking, welfare and canteen areas, external yards and loading bays, and specialist deep cleans during shutdowns. It is the pillar over our sector-specific lines: warehouse cleaning, factory cleaning, and the industry pages for warehouses and factories, all delivered to one documented standard.
COSHH and heavy-duty chemical control
Industrial environments involve oils, greases, solvents and heavier-duty cleaning chemicals, all governed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002. COSHH requires employers to assess the hazards and risks from hazardous substances and put control measures in place; a product safety data sheet is not itself a risk assessment, only an input to one. The HSE also flags cleaning-specific hazards such as dermatitis from wet work and corrosive products causing burns. We work to documented COSHH procedures and substance assessments for every product.
Safety at height and heavy plant
Dust on high steel, ductwork and racking is both a housekeeping and a fire-load issue, so industrial contracts often include high-level cleaning planned under the Work at Height Regulations 2005, and ductwork and ventilation cleaning to keep extract and supply systems hygienic. All work is covered by task-specific method statements and risk assessments.
Directly-employed, trained and vetted
Industrial sites demand reliable cover and site-specific competence. Every operative is PAYE-employed on guaranteed hours, inducted to your site rules, and background-checked (DBS, or Disclosure Scotland / AccessNI) before their first shift, with lone-working managed under our lone-working procedures.
One national contract for multi-site operators
Manufacturers and distributors often run several sites, and sourcing a different industrial cleaner in each town is a headache. Optus Glean UK is the national alternative: one contract, one documented standard and one invoice across the industrial and manufacturing and logistics and warehousing sectors, with indicative budgeting in our warehouse cleaning cost guide.
