Optus Glean UK is built differently. One contract covers every site you run, wherever it is in the UK, to one documented standard, with one account manager and one consolidated invoice. Whether you have a single office or fifty sites spread across the four nations, the vetting, the method statements, and the reporting are identical.
The complete cleaning company
We deliver more than fifty service lines across four divisions — contract cleaning, healthcare and specialist cleaning, laundry and facilities support, and deep and exterior cleaning. Crucially, we take on the regulated and specialist environments many cleaners avoid: hospitals and clinics to the NHS National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2025, CQC-registered care settings including supported living and domiciliary care, ambulance and emergency-vehicle decontamination, airports and transport hubs, and public and civic buildings — as well as everyday offices, retail, industrial sites, and domestic and short-let work.
Why we are different
Most cleaning provision runs on a casual or self-employed workforce. When better-paid or more convenient work appears, the cleaning shift is dropped — and the buyer inherits the missed clean, the chase for cover, and the inconsistency. It is a workforce-design problem, not an effort problem.
Optus Glean UK removes that dynamic. Our operatives are PAYE-employed on guaranteed hours, paid at or above the Real Living Wage (£13.45 UK / £14.80 London), with statutory holiday, sick pay, and pension auto-enrolment. A named primary cleaner and a named relief are assigned to every contract, so cover is built in from day one rather than improvised.
Vetting across all four nations
Every operative is background-checked before assignment: DBS-checked in England and Wales, and through the equivalent Disclosure Scotland and AccessNI schemes in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Cleaners in schools, healthcare, and care settings hold Enhanced checks with the appropriate barred-list checks for regulated activity.
Compliance and standards
Our work is delivered in line with UK standards: the COSHH Regulations 2002, BICSc colour-coding for cross-contamination control, the NHS National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2025 and CQC Regulations 12 and 15 for care settings, and TUPE 2006 where staff transfer on a contract change. OPTUSGLEAN UK LTD is fully insured, carrying public liability and employers' liability cover, with certificates available on request.
