Banks and financial offices need cleaners who can be trusted around confidential information and secure areas. That means fully vetted, directly-employed operatives, strict clear-desk discipline, escorted or out-of-hours access, and immaculate branch front-of-house. OptusGlean staffs financial-sector contracts with DBS-checked PAYE teams and one fixed monthly price.

What does cleaning a bank or financial office require?

Financial premises split into public-facing branch space and secure back-office and trading floors. The specification covers branch front-of-house (glass, ATMs’ surrounds, counters, floors, waiting areas), washrooms, staff kitchens and breakout areas, and out-of-hours desk and floor cleaning in dealing and back-office zones. Presentation and discretion matter equally - a branch is a shop window, and a back office is a controlled environment.

Why does bank cleaning demand higher staff vetting?

Cleaners in a bank move through areas containing confidential client data and cash-handling zones, often out of hours and unsupervised. That is why financial clients insist on directly employed, criminal-record-checked staff rather than casual sub-contract labour. Every OptusGlean operative is directly employed on PAYE and vetted before their first shift. We DBS-check operatives in England and Wales, and apply the equivalent PVG (Disclosure Scotland) and AccessNI checks in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Where a site involves regulated activity with children or vulnerable adults, an Enhanced DBS (currently £49.50, gov.uk) is used. We never sub-contract to unvetted labour.

How is security and confidentiality maintained during cleaning?

We agree access, escorting, key-holding and alarm protocols with your facilities and security teams before mobilisation. Operatives work to a clear-desk protocol - documents left on desks are never moved or read - and follow your visitor, badging and CCTV rules. Consistent, named team members (not a rotating pool) reduce the number of vetted individuals entering the building.

Branch front-of-house vs back-office cleaning

Branch front-of-house is cleaned to a retail standard - spotless glazing, polished floors, sanitised counters and self-service machines - usually before opening. Back-office, dealing floors and server-adjacent areas are cleaned out of hours to a controlled specification, with care around IT equipment (we also run dedicated data centre cleaning for critical rooms).

Fixed monthly pricing for financial-sector contracts

OptusGlean prices every contract as a single fixed monthly fee paid by Direct Debit - never an hourly rate that drifts. The fee is built from the specification agreed at your free site survey, and it already accounts for the wage floor (National Living Wage £12.71/hr from April 2026, or the real Living Wage of £13.45 UK / £14.80 London where a contract requires it), employer’s NI, holiday pay, supervision, consumables, insurance and management. VAT is added at the standard 20%. Multi-branch estates are covered by a single national agreement, with consistent standards audited across every site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your cleaners criminal-record checked?
Yes. Every operative is PAYE-employed and DBS-checked (PVG in Scotland, AccessNI in Northern Ireland) before their first shift. Enhanced checks are used where a role or site requires them.
Can you clean out of hours so branches aren't disrupted?
Yes. Back-office and dealing areas are typically cleaned in the evening or early morning, and branch front-of-house before opening, with agreed key-holding and alarm procedures.
Do you follow a clear-desk protocol?
Yes. Documents left on desks are never moved or read. Operatives work to your clear-desk, badging and CCTV rules, agreed at mobilisation.
Can one contract cover a national branch network?
Yes. OptusGlean cleans nationwide, so a single contract and account manager can standardise cleaning and vetting across every branch in the UK.
