What does cleaning a pub or bar involve?
The nightly reset covers bar and trade floors (degreasing sticky spill build-up), the bar servery and glass-wash area, high-traffic customer washrooms, entrances and seating, and external areas or beer gardens including litter and glass collection. Food pubs add kitchen clean-down and extract cleaning. Odour control and spill response are constant themes in a wet-trade environment.

Yes. Gastropubs and food-led pubs carry the same kitchen fire risk as restaurants. Our TR19 grease extract cleaning keeps ductwork below the 200-micron deposit threshold and issues a hygiene certificate for your insurer (BESA) - important because a fire claim can be denied without documented compliance.
Early-morning cleans that don't disrupt trade
We clean before opening - typically early morning after a late close - so the pub is fresh, dry and ready for the first customers. Cellar-area, glass-wash and external cleaning are scheduled to fit around delivery and trading patterns, with key-holding and alarm procedures agreed. OptusGlean prices every contract as a single fixed monthly fee paid by Direct Debit - never an hourly rate that drifts. The fee is built from the specification agreed at your free site survey, and it already accounts for the wage floor (National Living Wage £12.71/hr from April 2026, or the real Living Wage of £13.45 UK / £14.80 London where a contract requires it), employer’s NI, holiday pay, supervision, consumables, insurance and management. VAT is added at the standard 20%. Pub companies and multi-site operators get one nationwide agreement with a consistent standard at every house.
