Restaurant cleaning splits into front-of-house dining that must impress diners and a back-of-house kitchen that must pass a food-hygiene inspection. It also includes TR19 grease extract cleaning - a fire-safety and insurance requirement. OptusGlean covers dining rooms, kitchens, washrooms and extract systems with green-coded, COSHH-trained teams on one fixed monthly price.

What does professional restaurant cleaning include?

The scope spans front-of-house (dining floors, tables, bar, glazing, entrance and waiting areas), back-of-house kitchen (floors, walls, surfaces, equipment exteriors, extract canopy), high-traffic customer washrooms, and waste and bin areas. Kitchens are cleaned with the BICSc GREEN colour code reserved strictly for food-preparation areas, preventing cross-contamination with washroom (red) or general (blue) cloths and equipment.

Why does the kitchen need a TR19 grease extract clean?

Grease building up inside kitchen extract ductwork is a serious fire risk, and insurers increasingly require compliance with BESA’s TR19 Grease standard. Grease deposits must not exceed a mean average of 200 microns between cleans, verified by Deposit Thickness Tests, with before/after photos and a hygiene certificate issued (BESA). Non-compliance can see a fire claim denied. Our TR19 kitchen extract cleaning is documented and certificated.

How do you protect a food-hygiene rating?

Environmental Health Officers score cleanliness as part of the Food Hygiene Rating. We work to a documented kitchen clean-down and periodic deep-clean schedule, manage cleaning chemicals under COSHH (an SDS is not itself a risk assessment - HSE), and keep colour-coded equipment segregated. Nightly and periodic deep cleans target the areas EHOs check: behind and under equipment, extract, walls and floor junctions.

Front-of-house cleaning that protects the diner experience

Diners judge a restaurant on the floor, the table and the washroom. We deliver spotless dining floors, sanitised tables and touch points, clean glazing and a well-stocked, fresh-smelling washroom - cleaned before service or overnight so the restaurant opens immaculate. Periodic deep cleans handle upholstery, high-level dusting and detailed work.

Fixed monthly pricing for single sites and groups

OptusGlean prices every contract as a single fixed monthly fee paid by Direct Debit - never an hourly rate that drifts. The fee is built from the specification agreed at your free site survey, and it already accounts for the wage floor (National Living Wage £12.71/hr from April 2026, or the real Living Wage of £13.45 UK / £14.80 London where a contract requires it), employer’s NI, holiday pay, supervision, consumables, insurance and management. VAT is added at the standard 20%. TR19 extract cleaning is scheduled at the frequency your usage and insurer require. Every OptusGlean operative is directly employed on PAYE and vetted before their first shift. We DBS-check operatives in England and Wales, and apply the equivalent PVG (Disclosure Scotland) and AccessNI checks in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Where a site involves regulated activity with children or vulnerable adults, an Enhanced DBS (currently £49.50, gov.uk) is used. We never sub-contract to unvetted labour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you carry out TR19 grease extract cleaning?
Yes. We clean kitchen extract canopies, filters and ductwork to BESA TR19 Grease, with Deposit Thickness Testing, before/after photos and a hygiene certificate for your insurer and EHO.
Can you clean overnight so it doesn't affect service?
Yes. Kitchen and front-of-house cleaning is typically done after close or before opening, so the restaurant is inspection-ready and immaculate for the next service.
How do you avoid cross-contamination in the kitchen?
We use the BICSc green colour code for food-preparation areas exclusively, keeping kitchen cloths, mops and equipment strictly separate from washroom (red) and general (blue) items.
Does cleaning help our food-hygiene rating?
A documented clean-down and periodic deep-clean schedule, COSHH-managed chemicals and TR19 extract compliance all evidence the standards EHOs assess in the Food Hygiene Rating.
