Sanitisation, disinfection and fogging is the rapid decontamination of a space after an outbreak, illness or contamination — combining hands-on touch-point disinfection with ULV (ultra-low-volume) fogging that coats surfaces a cloth cannot easily reach. Optus Glean UK provides it as a one-off response or a scheduled programme, UK-wide, fully insured.
Touch-point disinfection and ULV fogging
We combine two methods. First, manual disinfection of high-contact touch points — door handles, switches, rails, desks, phones, washroom fittings — where transmission concentrates. Second, ULV fogging, which disperses an approved biocide as a fine mist that settles across surfaces, including awkward and high areas, for whole-room coverage.
When it is used
Typical triggers are a confirmed case or outbreak of a contagious illness (such as norovirus or flu) in a workplace, school or care setting; a contamination incident; reopening premises that have stood closed; or simply raising confidence for staff and visitors. It suits offices, schools, gyms, hospitality, transport, healthcare and care settings.
Approved products, used correctly
We use biocides approved for the purpose, applied at the correct dilution and contact time to a COSHH assessment. Areas are ventilated and re-entry times observed, and we advise on how soon a space can be reoccupied. Fogging complements, rather than replaces, thorough cleaning first where surfaces are visibly soiled.
One-off or scheduled
We attend rapidly for outbreaks and can also build periodic sanitisation into a cleaning contract for higher-risk sites. As a nationwide contractor we can respond across multiple sites under one arrangement.
