A car showroom sells on presentation, so its cleaning is dominated by two things: acres of glazing that must be flawlessly clear, and a display floor polished to a mirror finish under the vehicles. Add spotless customer lounges, handover areas and washrooms - all to manufacturer brand standards. OptusGlean covers showroom, workshop welfare and offices on one fixed monthly contract.

What does cleaning a car showroom involve?

Dealership cleaning is really several jobs in one building: the glazed showroom itself, the customer-facing lounge and handover bays, the sales offices, the parts and service reception, and the workshop welfare areas. The showroom demands smear-free internal and external glazing, a high-shine hard floor maintained around parked stock, dusted display vehicles’ surroundings, and immaculate washrooms and coffee areas for waiting customers.

Why is glazing and floor presentation so critical?

Manufacturers audit franchised dealerships against brand-standard checklists, and cleanliness is scored. Full-height glass frontages show every smear and water spot, and the display floor reflects the lighting and the cars - any dullness or scuffing undermines a premium sale. We maintain glazing (internal daily, external on schedule) and run a floor-care regime - buffing, burnishing or polishing to suit the floor type - that keeps the finish consistent.

Customer lounge, handover and washroom standards

The waiting lounge and handover area are where a customer forms a lasting impression while spending money. These zones get a hospitality-grade clean: sanitised surfaces, spotless coffee stations, fresh washrooms with consumables topped up, and clean glass throughout. We follow BICSc colour-coding to keep washroom and food-area cloths strictly separate.

Showroom vs workshop - two environments, one contract

Front-of-house is a retail-presentation clean; the workshop is an industrial environment with oil, brake dust and swarf. We clean the workshop welfare, offices and walkways (not the mechanics’ work on vehicles), managing hazardous residues under COSHH, while keeping the showroom to showroom standard. Both sit under one specification and one monthly fee.

Fixed monthly pricing to brand standard

OptusGlean prices every contract as a single fixed monthly fee paid by Direct Debit - never an hourly rate that drifts. The fee is built from the specification agreed at your free site survey, and it already accounts for the wage floor (National Living Wage £12.71/hr from April 2026, or the real Living Wage of £13.45 UK / £14.80 London where a contract requires it), employer’s NI, holiday pay, supervision, consumables, insurance and management. VAT is added at the standard 20%. Dealer groups running multiple sites get one nationwide agreement audited to the same standard at every location. Every OptusGlean operative is directly employed on PAYE and vetted before their first shift. We DBS-check operatives in England and Wales, and apply the equivalent PVG (Disclosure Scotland) and AccessNI checks in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Where a site involves regulated activity with children or vulnerable adults, an Enhanced DBS (currently £49.50, gov.uk) is used. We never sub-contract to unvetted labour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you clean the external glazing as well as internal?
Yes. Internal showroom glazing is maintained daily and external/high-level glazing on a scheduled cycle under the Work at Height Regulations, keeping the full frontage smear-free.
Can you meet manufacturer brand-standard audits?
Yes. We work to a documented specification aligned to your franchise brand-standard checklist, with consistent floor-care and glazing regimes and auditable reporting.
Do you clean the workshop too?
We clean workshop welfare areas, offices and walkways and manage oil and brake-dust residues under COSHH. We don't valet or work on the vehicles themselves - our scope is the premises.
Can one contract cover our whole dealer group?
Yes. OptusGlean cleans nationwide, so a dealer group can standardise showroom presentation across every site under a single fixed monthly agreement.
