Logistics operators need a cleaning partner who understands a live distribution centre: vast floors worked by ride-on scrubbers around MHE traffic, high-level racking and mezzanine dust, loading bays, plus the offices, canteen and welfare that a busy 3PL or fulfilment site relies on. OptusGlean works around your shifts on one fixed monthly contract, nationwide.

What does cleaning a logistics or distribution site cover?

A logistics site is a mixed environment. Cleaning spans warehouse floors (machine scrubbing around racking and MHE routes), loading bays and yard-facing areas, mezzanine floors and walkways, high-level racking and structural dust, and - just as importantly - the offices, transport hub, canteen, welfare and washrooms where staff spend their breaks. This page is about your premises as a logistics operator; see our floor care service for the technical method detail.

How do you clean around a 24/7 operation?

Distribution centres rarely stop, so cleaning has to slot between or around shifts and pick waves without obstructing MHE and forklift traffic. We agree traffic-management and exclusion arrangements with your operations team, schedule floor scrubbing and high-level work into the quietest windows, and keep welfare and office areas cleaned daily so productivity and hygiene hold up around the clock.

Managing warehouse floors, racking and high-level dust

Large warehouse floors are best maintained with ride-on and walk-behind scrubber-driers to control pallet debris, dust and tyre marks and keep MHE routes safe. High-level racking, steelwork and light fittings accumulate dust that is both a housekeeping and a fire-load issue; we clean these under the Work at Height Regulations hierarchy (avoid, prevent, mitigate - HSE) using the right access equipment.

Offices, canteen and welfare - the part that's easy to forget

A logistics contract is not just the shed. Transport offices, the canteen, changing rooms, washrooms and reception all need a consistent daily clean, with washroom consumables and food-area hygiene (green-coded) managed properly. Keeping these areas right supports staff retention and wellbeing in a high-turnover sector. Every OptusGlean operative is directly employed on PAYE and vetted before their first shift. We DBS-check operatives in England and Wales, and apply the equivalent PVG (Disclosure Scotland) and AccessNI checks in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Where a site involves regulated activity with children or vulnerable adults, an Enhanced DBS (currently £49.50, gov.uk) is used. We never sub-contract to unvetted labour.

Fixed monthly pricing for single sites and networks

OptusGlean prices every contract as a single fixed monthly fee paid by Direct Debit - never an hourly rate that drifts. The fee is built from the specification agreed at your free site survey, and it already accounts for the wage floor (National Living Wage £12.71/hr from April 2026, or the real Living Wage of £13.45 UK / £14.80 London where a contract requires it), employer’s NI, holiday pay, supervision, consumables, insurance and management. VAT is added at the standard 20%. For 3PLs and e-commerce operators running a national network of DCs, one agreement delivers a consistent standard and single account management across every site - instead of a different local cleaner per depot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you clean without stopping our operation?
Yes. We schedule floor scrubbing and high-level work into your quietest windows and agree traffic-management with operations, so cleaning never obstructs MHE, forklifts or pick waves.
Do you handle high-level racking and structural dust?
Yes, under the Work at Height Regulations using the correct access equipment - addressing both housekeeping and the fire-load risk of accumulated dust on steelwork and fittings.
Does the contract include offices and welfare, not just the warehouse?
Yes. Transport offices, canteen, changing rooms, washrooms and reception are all covered daily, with washroom consumables and green-coded food-area hygiene managed.
Can one contract cover a national network of DCs?
Yes. OptusGlean is nationwide, so a 3PL or fulfilment operator can standardise cleaning across every distribution centre under one fixed monthly agreement.
