OptusGlean UK provides construction cleaning for contractors, developers and fit-out firms across the UK — from during-build site cleans to sparkle and handover cleans that get a scheme ready for the client. We work to Work at Height and COSHH requirements with vetted, directly employed staff and clear fixed pricing on every project or programme.
What are the stages of a builders clean?
Construction cleaning is staged with the build programme:
| Stage | Scope |
|---|---|
| During-build / rough clean | Debris and waste clearance, dust control, welfare and access route cleaning as trades work |
| Builders clean | Removal of construction dust, residue, stickers and paint splashes from surfaces, glazing and fittings |
| Sparkle / handover clean | Final detailed clean to a presentation standard — glass, frames, sanitaryware, floors — ready for client handover |
We also cover post-fit-out cleaning for offices and retail units — see our after-builders cleaning service.
How do you work safely on a live construction site?
Sites are high-risk, so our operatives integrate with your safety regime: site inductions, RAMS and permits, correct PPE, and COSHH control for cleaning chemicals and construction dust (HSE). Work at height — glazing, high-level detail — follows the Work at Height Regulations 2005 hierarchy of avoid, prevent, mitigate, with collective protection preferred over personal fall arrest (HSE). We coordinate around other trades to keep the programme moving.
Can you clean multiple sites for a national contractor?
Yes. OptusGlean UK is the national alternative to small city-based cleaning firms: one national contract cleaning agreement, one cleanliness standard and one account manager across every site you run — instead of juggling a different local cleaner in every town. See our approach to multi-site cleaning and why buyers choose OptusGlean. National housebuilders, main contractors and fit-out firms run projects across the country and can't afford a different, unvetted local cleaner on each. We deliver one specification, one safety standard and one account manager across every site in your programme, with consistent quality and one point of accountability — and can flex resource to hit handover dates.
Who does the work and how is it priced?
Every operative is directly employed by us on PAYE — never a self-employed sub-contractor — and vetted before their first shift: DBS-checked in England and Wales, Disclosure Scotland (PVG where the role requires it) in Scotland, and AccessNI in Northern Ireland. We are fully insured, carrying employers' liability (compulsory, minimum £5m) and public liability cover. Construction cleaning is usually priced per project from a scope and programme, or as a fixed monthly fee for ongoing site and welfare cleaning, following a free site survey.
