OptusGlean UK delivers industrial and manufacturing cleaning across the UK — factories, production lines, food processing, warehousing and plant. We work to COSHH and Work at Height Regulations, use directly employed, vetted operatives trained for the environment, and price on a fixed monthly fee, with one national contract covering every plant and depot you run.
What does industrial cleaning cover?
Industrial contracts range from routine production-area housekeeping to specialist periodic work: factory floors and drainage, production and packing lines, high-level cleaning of steelwork, racking and gantries, ventilation and extract systems, welfare and office areas, and food-safe cleaning where production demands it. We match method and chemistry to the substrate and the risk, and coordinate around shift patterns and shutdowns. See our industrial cleaning service for the detail.
How do you manage safety and compliance on a live plant?
Manufacturing carries real hazards, so compliance is built into the method statement:
| Requirement | How we meet it |
|---|---|
| COSHH (SI 2002/2677) | Substance risk assessments, safe storage, PPE, ventilation — the SDS informs, but is not, the assessment (HSE) |
| Work at Height Regs 2005 | Avoid → prevent → mitigate hierarchy; collective protection before harnesses (HSE) |
| Ventilation / kitchen extract | TR19 Air and TR19 Grease cleaning to BESA benchmarks where applicable |
| Lone/shift working | Training, supervision and monitoring per HSE INDG73 |
For duct and extract fire-risk work we clean to the TR19 kitchen-extract standard, with before/after photos, deposit-thickness tests and a hygiene certificate.
Can one contractor cover multiple plants nationwide?
Yes. OptusGlean UK is the national alternative to small city-based cleaning firms: one national contract cleaning agreement, one cleanliness standard and one account manager across every site you run — instead of juggling a different local cleaner in every town. See our approach to multi-site cleaning and why buyers choose OptusGlean. Manufacturers with plants and distribution sites in different regions gain nothing from managing a separate local cleaner at each — standards drift and reporting is inconsistent. We deliver one specification, one safety standard and one account manager across every facility, with consolidated reporting for your operations or SHEQ team.
Who does the work and how is it priced?
Every operative is directly employed by us on PAYE — never a self-employed sub-contractor — and vetted before their first shift: DBS-checked in England and Wales, Disclosure Scotland (PVG where the role requires it) in Scotland, and AccessNI in Northern Ireland. Operatives are trained for the specific site — COSHH, machinery awareness, permit-to-work and, where needed, food-safety and hygiene. We price a fixed monthly fee by Direct Debit after a free site survey, with periodic and shutdown work programmed in advance rather than billed as surprises. Call 0330 027 2159 to arrange a survey.
